Default New Winery

We are currently in the process of opening our winery. We will be selling beer while we wait for our first run to age. Should I try building web presence for the wine in the meantime? I do not want to build too much hype and have it fizzle off before the release, but I also don't want to be a sitting duck on the big day.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Thanks!

Briarwood - instead of letting a vendor like myself respond I recommend you ask Josh at pinotblogger.com his thoughts.

PS - building a brand often starts before product is ready . . .

No doubt - start building your presence today.

If there is no product or ecommerce it is relatively inexpensive. I would reccommend getting a logo if you don't have one already and getting a small web design shop to get you a couple pages up highlighting your company, history, varietals and providing some depth to the company.

Also - keep in mind - there is a whole search engine marketing game that goes along with this. Starting today will help you learn over time!

Thanks for the replies! Josh at pinotblogger has a wealth of information and is a heck of a nice guy. Thank you for referring me to him. Search engine marketing is like a foreign language to me. Are there sites that assist with this?

Thanks again for the response!

Shoot your questions on the board - there are some knowledgable guys trolling around here who have given me good advice.

I always tell my potential advertisers...

"You wine is only as good as it Sells$"

and if you do not advertise, your competitors will.
Think of it like a yellow pages directory.

Like any new business, Marketing/Promotion is always the Key.
